Hot Chocolate {mug} Brownie
Today I was planning on sharing fudge with you all.
Delicious, creme de menthe fudge,
and while it is certainly delicious,
it did not firm up according to my plan,
so that recipe will need to wait.
I guess things happen for a reason, because
this may be the single easiest
most amazing
post
ever.
Microwave mug cookies, cakes, and brownies are nothing new.
I haven’t made them before, but it’s always in the back of my mind.
What’s not to love about a quick, hot, gooey dessert for one,
ready in a minute.
Mug brownie here I come,
only I am out of cocoa powder.
Heading to the store kind of defeats the purpose of a quick and easy treat,
but I do have hot chocolate mix,
and marshmallows for that hot chocolate mix.
Hot Chocolate mug Brownie w/marshmallows:
6 tbsp hot chocolate mix
4 tbsp flour
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp melted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla (peppermint would be great as well)
handful of mini marshmallows
In a large mug
combine the flour and hot chocolate mix
stir in the water, butter, and vanilla
top with the marshmallows
microwave on high for 1 – 1 1/2 minutes
do not over cook ~ the brownie should be molten in the center
be careful – the mug will be VERY hot
be warned, having this information is dangerous
Enjoy!

Ooooh. I love it! Perfect for dessert tonight. Pinned!
the kids and I were fighting over who got to lick the mug clean – it was that good
What a fabulous idea, Heather! I was looking for an indulgent single-serving dessert for tonight. I think I’ve found it! Pinning ?

Howdy! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a collection of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us beneficial information to work on. You have done a wonderful job!|
Out of all the brownie mug recipes I’ve tried, I like this one the best. It has a much nicer texture and flavor. However, I did some tweaking to your recipe. Not only am I a lazy cook, I am an even lazier cleaner-upper. Instead of dirtying up a second cup, I melted the butter in the microwave for 20 seconds (time varies according to how cold the butter is) in the mug. To that I added the milk (I too prefer to use milk over water) and vanilla. To that I added the hot chocolate mix (without mixing) and then the flour, then blended it all together. Microwaved for 1 and 1/2 minutes in a 1000 watt microwave at 100%. Came out perfect. Thanks for this recipe!
less dishes is always a plus! thanks for sharing your tips, and I am thrilled you enjoyed the recipe
